Honorary Life Membership may be awarded by the CCNA board of directors to General Members who have performed meritorious services beyond the normal and regular duties of membership in and on behalf of the Association, and to friends of the Association who, over a period of years, have contributed their support and understanding toward the improvement of community journalism in Canada. Nominations for Honorary Life Membership may be submitted by any General Member, Affiliated Member or Participating Member.
Nominations must be made in writing, outlining the nominee’s qualifications and biography. If possible, a photograph of the nominee should accompany the nomination.
Nominations forwarded to the national office before December 31 of any year will be considered by the board of directors at its first meeting for approval. If an Honorary Life Membership has been or is granted in respect of a newspaper published by such an individual, the Honorary Life Membership granted as aforesaid shall not relieve against the payment of fees for the membership in respect of such newspaper. Presentation of Honorary Life Memberships will be made at the annual meeting. Honorary Life Members shall enjoy the same rights and privileges as General Members.
